Suggestions

Do you have suggestions on how to make Mednar better? Perhaps something on the results page is not as intuitive as you'd like? Do we need more collections? We'd like to hear your thoughts! Contact us.

Guidelines for Suggesting Collections

To evaluate your collection, we need the following information:

  1. Name of the Collection
  2. URL of the Collection
  3. Suggested Category for the Collection

Our evaluation process:

We look for collections that contribute credible content to the business world. These collections can be difficult to get to, and may even require the user to login to view the information. But, most importantly, the collection must be free to search. If you would like to search something that is proprietary, or subscription-based, we can do that too! Learn more...

A decisive factor in evaluating the collection is the quality of the search results. Some collections may have authoritative data tucked away in their databases, but their search engine is not robust enough to pull the data out. In fact, Mednar relies on the collections' search engine as the primary means of accessing the collection's results. So, if the original search engine on the collection's website is poor, Mednar would retrieve poor results.

When evaluating a source for Mednar, we like to see as many of these as possible:

  • An Advanced Search Page
  • Use of Boolean Searching
  • Fast search times
  • High Quality Metadata
  • Date, Author, Abstract/Snippet, Publication/Journal
  • Free to search (may be combined with subscription viewing)

To suggest a collection for Mednar, please contact us with the name of the collection, URL of the collection and a suggested category.
